Artboard 11-100

Earlier this year, Larry Fink,  the CEO of Black Rock, which is the largest Asset Management company in the world wrote a compelling letter to the firms they invest in, highlighting why they believe that sustainable investing is the strongest foundation for client portfolios going forward.

We hosted a robust discussion around the issue of ESG in South Africa, with a panel of esteemed guests from the investment industry. We unpacked how important it is to take into account that the social aspects are more prevalent, yet tend to be overlooked within the local context. We discussed what companies can do to have a better paradigm shift around ESG in South Africa, particularly in the unlisted space.

This discussion was hosted by Mamedupi Matsipa, who is one of our investment executives and was moderated by Mosidi Modise, founder of Moop and WEF Global Shaper. The list of panelists who participated in this discussion was :

  • Cora Fernandez: NED,  M&A , PE & VC Strategist and Investor
  • Mabatho Seeiso: Managing Director , The Bridge
  • Trevor Machimana: Director, D-Synergy Consulting
